For the mystery LTC challenge, nine people all made cards using the same two stamps. The only requirement was that they use the stamps in some way — they could use additional stamps, modify a stamped image, and use whatever embellishments that they wanted. The resulting set of cards shows a fantastic array of creative and artistic talent.
And without further ado, here are the cards!
Lazy Daisy AB’s card is a whole lot of fun. I think that the front of the card has a major Terry Gilliam vibe with the cut flower images. If you’re wondering about the card’s name, you just need to take a peek inside:
Jabber’s very colorful card uses a technique that I’d love to try — embossing on vellum. I would never have thought to try that, but the look is very impressive. And apparently the heat doesn’t destroy the vellum
Red Bird created a beautiful fold-out card. When I made the rules of the challenge (that you could use the stamps in any way that you wanted, as long as you used them), this was the type of creative use of the stamps that I was hoping to see. The bee wings and thorax make excellent flowers and leaves.
I love Wandering Magnolias’s create use of composition in this card. In particular, I really love the amber discs that feature the stamp images. The scan really doesn’t do it justice!
Live Laugh Bubble Bath created a fun and colorful LTC that features the perfect embellishment for her border paper.
BfloAnonChick’s use of alcohol markers and distress inks really does evoke springtime.
Basselope Hunter’s card is definitely appropriate for this swap! All of the cards are wonderfully unique.
Beach Bum TX has definitely demonstrated a very creative use of color. I really love the use of the contrasting color around the bee stamps.
Last, but definitely not least, is CW Sun Seeker’s card. This card demonstrates a great use of different techniques and a very royal composition.
All of the cards submitted for this challenge are excellent, and demonstrate a great deal of creativity and artistic ability. Using the same two stamps, each participant was able to make a completely unique and impressive card.
Here’s looking forward to the next challenge!
